Deep Roots, Good Stewardship

The definition of a "tap root", according to the Webster dictionary: "(1) a primary root that grows vertically downward and gives off small lateral roots, (2) the central element or position in a line of growth or development." This definition is the closest I can come to defining my intentions. For deep rooting plants, the tap root is the first to develop and plunge down into the earth, both anchoring the young plant and feeding it. From the tap root grows smaller roots that also help to feed the plant and, in some cases, help the plant to spread and propagate. I want to establish a self-sustaining way of life, first for myself and my family and then, hopefully, my friends and neighbors will desire to follow. Not as competition for business, but as a community of individuals with different skills and passions working together to live sustainably and independently, feeding and educating each other and healing our soils through regenerative agriculture. To be Free in the truest sense.

It is every human's right to have access to clean food and clean products, free from chemicals and poisons. It is every human's right to have access to knowledge that allows them to achieve individual sustainability, free from dependency on large box stores or government programs. Living sustainably as individuals will lead to stronger, independent communities who are able to support each other in times of crisis, rather than being dependent on government handouts.

Why? For my family, for my friends, for my community, for my home. To be secure, independent and Free. For peace of mind and the joy of building something. For clean food and clean living. For the Good Stewardship that our God and Creator has called us to from the beginning. For the joy of simple freedom.
